Every Point Counts: Leander Paes & Scott Lipsky

#EveryPointCounts! Scott Lipsky (Boston Lobsters) goes behind the back for an amazing volley stab but is outfoxed by the court speed of Leander Paes (Washington Kastles). #MylanWTT40 #SCTop10

When it comes to doubles, leave it to Leander Paes to have the last laugh. But what about this brilliant behind-the-back volley by Scott Lipsky? Surely Leander, winner of 16 Grand Slam doubles and mixed doubles titles combined, would show some mercy?

Nah. Wouldn’t be Paes’s style, nor would it be good for the spirit of competition.

Paes and Querrey took the point, and the men’s doubles set, 5-4, helping to lead the Washington Kastles to a 25-13 victory over the Boston Lobsters on Tuesday evening.

In other Mylan WTT action, Mike Bryan let his racquet fly off the handle a bit on this point while trying to stay in a point against Taylor Fritz and Raven Klaasen. But wait, where did the racquet go? He was fortunate to get his racquet back when all was said and done. The Bryans lost the point but won the set, 5-1, to help the California Dream to a 20-19 victory over the San Diego Aviators.
