Dimitrov Confirms Sharapova Split as Lendl Rumors Swirl

24-year-old Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov is ready to move on to the next chapter of his life. He confirmed his split with five-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, who was his girlfriend of three years, on Friday to Bulgarian media.

"Our paths split," the world No. 16 told media on Friday, according to Reuters. "We experienced wonderful moments together. I wish her much happiness and success in life and in tennis.”

He added: "Now I'm concentrated entirely on the game and I'm sure the results will soon be seen... This is the summer of the new beginning for me."

Meanwhile, rumors continue to swirl regarding a possible pairing between Dimitrov and coach Ivan Lendl. The two have been spotted together on the court in Florida, but there is no word on whether or not they are considering some type of arrangement. Dimitrov parted ways with coach Roger Rasheed after Wimbledon. At 16, the Bulgarian has sunk to his lowest ATP ranking since April 21 of last year.

Lendl once, albeit in a tongue-in-cheek manner, said that Dimitrov could be No. 1 in the world. Maybe the Czech intends to try to get him there?
