The USTA has announced that Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day presented by Hess will take place on Saturday, August 23 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, beginning at 9:30 am. The live tennis and music show, which serves as a kickoff to the year's final major and first began at the 1996 US Open, will feature Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal taking part in exhibition and skill competitions and musical performances by Hunter Hayes, MKTO, McCLAIN, The Vamps, Madison Beer and Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day house DJ Salerno.
The musical guests are as diverse as they are numerous, as country superstar Hayes is a four-time Granny Award nominee, while 15-year-old Beer is a local product from Long Island.
Additional talent will be announced in the coming weeks.
Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster (1-866-OPEN-TIX), www.usopen.org and at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center box office. General admission promenade tickets begin at $10 while loge tickets are $25. Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day will be broadcast on CBS the following day, Sunday, August 24, beginning at 12 pm Eastern.
“Not only is Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day presented by Hess a fantastic way to kick off the US Open, but it’s also a great time to encourage youth to be active, play tennis and develop healthy habits, “ said Gordon Smith, USTA Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. “This annual event continues to bring the entire family together for a fun-filled day of sports and entertainment.”
