Two-time Grand Slam champion Li Na was on hand to christen Nike's new Shanghai campus, Nike Greater China, on Friday - which features a building that bears her name.
Nike often names its campus buildings after its athletes, and there's a tradition for it in tennis. Buildings at Nike's global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon have been named after John McEnroe and Pete Sampras.
The new Nike campus is located in the Yangpu District of Shanghai and the building that features Li's name is a nine-story office building. The campus also features a soccer field, indoor basketball court, and fitness facilities.
"It brings me so much happiness to have my name appear on a Nike building, on the headquarters of Nike Greater China, no less," Li told the WTA.
"Nike has been with me through all of my tennis career and seeing my name on the building is one of the biggest honors I've received in my life. Nike has always respected and honored its athletes, so it's not just my name that's up there on the building, it stands for all outstanding Chinese athletes that Nike represents. I've cherished my friendship with Nike over the years and this incredible honor is yet another step in our longstanding partnership."
