China's Li Na will be spending her summer looking for a new coach.
Wimbledon - Federer Thinks All-White Dress Code Too Strict
The current world No. 2 and reigning Australian Open champion will no longer be working with former coach Carlos Rodriguez. Their coaching arrangement came to an end just after Li lost in the third round at Wimbledon to Barbora Zahlavova Strycova.
Per USA Today, the split was primarily due to Rodriguez's association with a tennis academy he oversees in Beijing, China. The academy's owners, though initially happy to have Rodriguez associated with Li, felt the amount of time Rodriguez spent traveling with Li was too much.
According to Li's agent Max Eisenbud, despite efforts to continue the relationship, an agreement could not be reached. Though not happy with the decision, Li will now be on the search for a new coach. She will however continue to train with Rodriguez whenever she is in Beijing.
Li began working with Rodriguez back in July 2012. Eisenbud said he has an idea for a new coach and will reveal that name to Li soon.
Despite having won Melbourne earlier this year, Li has had little success at the resulting majors this season. Aside from her Wimbledon exit, she also lost in the opening round of Roland Garros back in May.
