The news does not come as a surprise, as Haas announced in early June that his fourth shoulder surgery would end his 2014 campaign.
Baghdatis, currently 105 in the world, had his career-best US Open performance in 2013 when he reached the third round.
Haas, who is set to turn 36 next April, has stated that he plans to return in 2014 and wants to finish his career in his terms.
