"On the first day of 2024 I wanted to wish you a happy new year and share the exciting news that Jiri and I will be welcoming a baby into our family this summer! 👼" Kvitova posted on Instagram.
The 33-year-old Kvitova married her coach Jiri Vanek, a former ATP pro, last July 22nd after about three years of dating.
Widely regarded as one of the classiest players on the WTA Tour, Kvitova is an eight-time winner of the WTA's Karen Krantzcke Sportsmanship Award. Last April, Kvitova captured the Miami Open championship then joined Kool & The Gang onstage right outside the stadium to celebrate her title triumph.
Kvitova defeated Maria Sharapova to capture her maiden major at the 2011 Wimbledon.
Three years later, Kvitova crushed Genie Bouchard to claim her second Wimbledon crown.
Kvitova and Vanek, 44, shot their engagement photo on the balcony of the player lounge at Wimbledon overlooking the courts. Former ATP pro Jiri Vanek has coached Kvitova since 2016.
Kvitova was previously engaged to Czech hockey player Radek Meidl. The couple began dating in 2014 before ending their engagement in 2016. Kvitova also briefly dated former ATP pro Radek Stepanek, who was once engaged to world No. 1 Martina Hingis.
