The former world No. 17 crashed out of the final round of Australian Open qualifying falling to Italian Lorenzo Sonego, 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-4. Sonego has yet to win an ATP Tour-level main-draw match.

Tomic, who played listless tennis during the opening set, took a parting shot during his departure from the court.
Asked what's next for his career, Tomic replied: "I just count money, that’s all I do. I count my millions...You go do what I did. You go make, 13, 14 million. Bye bye."
