File this one under “WTF?”

Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt did their part to promote Monday night’s “Fast4” tennis exhibition by exchanging a few volleys from their separate speedboats.

Okay, tough to call this a rally—it’s more of a test to see if tennis balls float in salt water—but it helped drum up attention for tennis, and it seems like Roger and Lleyton had a good time doing it, so let’s chalk it up as a win-win (even if it’s a gimmicky win-win) and move on to this week’s ATP event in Sydney, which is already underway.

In case you’re wondering, Federer won the exhibition in five sets, and a good time was had by all.
