Last year Iga Swiatek tore through 37 consecutive wins from February to July, notching a streak that saw her claim titles in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Stuttgart, Rome and Roland-Garros.
Fast forward a year, and it’s time for Swiatek to defend the streak. She will take her place in the Qatar Total Open draw next week, the spot where her incredible run began.
Swiatek tied Martina Hingis for the longest WTA winning streak since 1997 – the joint longest WTA winning streak since 1990.
She will have to face challenges early in Doha where she is the top seed. Here is how Swiatek’s path to the title lays out (if the seeds hold).

Swiatek, who went 67-9 in 2022, and 21-2 at the Slams and against Top-20 players, is 6-2 on the season. The World No.1 will defend 6,270 ranking points between now and the end of Roland-Garros, a significant portion but by no means all of her 10,485 ranking points.
21-year-old Swiatek lost to Jessica Pegula at United Cup, and was defeated by eventual runner-up Elena Rybakina in the round of 16 at the Australian Open.
