The third-ranked Jabeur announced she has withdrawn from Doha and Dubai after undergoing a "minor surgery."

Jabeur did not specify the exact nature of her surgery or provide a definitive date for her return to the WTA Tour.

US Open finalist Jabeur has not played since losing to former Roland Garros runner-up Marketa Vondrousova 6-1, 5-7, 6-1, in last month's Australian Open second round.

"In order to take care of my health situation, my medical team have decided that I need to get a minor surgery in order to be able to be back on the courts and perform well," Jabeur posted on social media. "I will have to retire from Doha and Dubai and this is breaking my heart."

The 28-year-old Tunisian contested quarterfinals in both Dubai and Doha last season. Jabeur lost to former world No. 1 Simona Halep in the 2022 Dubai quarterfinals and bowed to Anett Kontaveit in the Doha quarterfinals.
