Second Serve

Frances Tiafoe had a big issue with this no-call during his match against Hyeon Chung on Friday night at Delray Beach. Fergus Murphy didn’t catch it—and to be fair, it’s not all that easy to see with the naked eye at full speed—but Tiafoe could tell by the way the ball bounced that Chung's backhand volley actually sent the ball back down off the court surface before it headed over the net to Tiafoe's side.

His dramatic, theatric reaction to his disappointment was one of the best moments we’ve seen on court this season. Tiafoe drops like a rock, collapsing onto the net and eventually onto the court before making his way to the chair to plead his case (for those who weren't aware of it, Tiafoe has quite the personality).

Tiafoe got over the call and claimed the second set, and he would soon have chances to clinch the upset over the No.8-seeded Chung, but Chung saved three match points before rains came and force the postponement of the match until Saturday.
