Second Serve

Feliciano Lopez reached a milestone in his 10th appearance at Dubai. In defeating his compatriot Guillermo Garcia-Lopez the 34-year-old has joined the ATP’s 400 club.

Lopez, who won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 to reach the second round, is 74th on the ATP’s all-time win list. He is the 13th active player in the 400-win club.

“Yeah, I’m very happy, very pleased," he said. "I feel very lucky. I think I have been able to play for many years. That’s why I reached the 400 number, which is something that I have to be very proud off. Hopefully I can go farther–I can get to 500, but it’s going to be very tough.”
