After much speculation, Andy Murray and Kim Sears have revealed the name of their new baby daughter - Sophia Olivia Murray.

Sears gave birth to the couple’s first daughter on February 7th just after Murray returned from competing at the Australian Open.

Though speculation was high they would pick a traditional Scottish name, it didn’t happen. According to the Daily Mail UK, bookmakers also placed odds on other names including Freya, Alexandra, and Elizabeth.

No further details about the new baby, weighing in at 8lbs 10oz, have been revealed.

Judy Murray recently told Hello! magazine that she looks forward to being a grandmother and spending a lot of time with the baby.

“I shall be an active granny,' she said. “My mum Shirley was very involved with Jamie and Andy when they were growing up and I hope to be the same with my grandchild. I’m actually looking forward to cutting back on my work and spending more time with my parents, and yes, the new baby.”

Murray’s next scheduled tournament stop is Indian Wells.
