Multi-tasker Caroline Wozniacki has been world No. 1, a New York City Marathoner and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model.
Now Caro has signed on for her sweetest role yet: Lady Godiva.
Godiva Chocolate has found its match just in time for Valentine's Day signing Wozniacki as its first athlete endorser.
The Godiva deal fulfills Wozniacki's wish. After a resurgent Wozniacki advanced to the 2014 U.S. Open final, her agents were fielding marketing opportunities when Wozniacki said "I want a chocolate deal," according to The Wall Street Journal, which published her request.
Mohamed Elsarky, CEO of Godiva Chocolatier, read Caroline's comments, and reached out to her management. The CEO had a productive meeting with Wozniacki in New York City in November, which led to the historic signing.
“Caroline has a global presence and is a great fit with our brand symbolized by Lady Godiva,” Elsarky told The Wall Street Journal.
Wozniacki did an in-store appearance for Godiva in New York City on Wednesday before hitting the red carpet for the official Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue party.
