Andy Murray joined Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the top four of the ATP rankings on Monday, marking the first time in 88 weeks (since 5/27/13) that the oft-associated-together quartet has occupied the top four slots of the rankings.
It may be known as the big four by many, but when you consider that Andy Murray has six Grand Slams less than Novak Djokovic now, maybe we should put that term to bed once and for all?
No matter what you call it, Murray and Nadal have a long way to go if they plan on being No. 1 at any point this year. Novak Djokovic has stretched his lead over Roger Federer to 3,840 points, and his lead over No. 3 Nadal is now 7,300, while his lead over No. 4 Murray is 7585.
In other rankings news, Stan Wawrinka dropped five spots to No. 8 after his Australian Open title points went off the board, and Nick Kyrgios rose 18 spots to a comfortable place inside the ATP's top 50, at No. 35.
