Na Li rose to No. 2 in the world on Monday, a new career high.
Victoria Azarenka tumbled from second to fourth, following behind both Li and new No. 3 Agnieszka Radwanska.
That wasn't the only shake-up in the Top 10. Jelena Jankovic rose to seventh, Angelique Kerber to eighth and Simona Halep to ninth.
It's a new career high for Halep. All three players passed Italy's Sara Errani, who tumbled from seventh to 10th.
This is the first week Azarenka has been ranked outside the Top 3 since September of 2011. The last time Jankovic was ranked as high as seventh was March 22 of 2011.
