Andy Roddick is now a member of the world's most famous tennis club.
The former World No. 1 will become an honorary member of the All England Club who annually host The Wimbledon Championships.
Roddick, who is playing this week at the Statoil Masters event in London, first learned of the honor from former UK No. 1 Tim Henman.
"I was able to take him to Wimbledon a couple of days ago because he's being made an honorary member, which he was so excited about, having been a three-time finalist," Henman said in a recent interview with the Tennis Podcast according to Reuters.
Roddick reached three Wimbledon finals during his career in 2004, 2005 and 2009.
Those who win a Wimbledon title are automatically given membership into the All England Club. Henman also added that because of Roddick's rapport with the British crowds throughout the years that made the honor even more fitting.
Roddick, who had tea with Henman at the All England Club, was given a few gifts upon learning of his acceptance.
"He was given a few gifts," Henman added, "One of them being a club tie, which is completely useless because he doesn't know how to tie a tie!"
Roddick's last match at Wimbledon was in 2012 before he retired later that year.
