The world is not ending, says Coco Gauff.

After pulling out of the Western and Southern Open on Tuesday due to what has been revealed to be a minor left ankle sprain, Gauff took to Twitter to reassure fans.

“I promise I am ok,” she wrote on Twitter. “The world is not ending lol.”

Gauff says she has a “really minor sprain” and everything should be healed very soon.

It isn’t clear if Amanda Anisimova will be so lucky. The American pulled out of her second round match with Shelby Rogers at Cincinnati due to an ankle injury, after upsetting Daria Kasatkina in the first round.

Both Gauff and Anisimova, if healthy, could be a big factor at the 2022 US Open. Main draw play begins in New York on Monday August 29.
