Federer: In-Fighting Slows Progress
Asked which players he prefers to tune up with before tournaments, the Maestro named names.
Federer, who has hit with prominent pros ranging from Rod Laver to Pete Sampras to Nick Kyrgios, cites Robin Haase, David Goffin, Jeremy Chardy, Diego Schwartzman and Marton Fucsovics as his favorite hitting partners.
"A good guy, a guy who can play tennis," Federer replied when asked prerequisite for practice partners. "I like to play with Robin Haase or Chardy or, I don't know, Schwartzman, Goffin. I don't know. Fucsovics I have practiced a ton as well."
"Just guys that I get along well also off the court that maybe also can play up in the court, play aggressive or steady, good to have a chat with before, during, and after the game," Federer said of preferred practice partners. "I mean, I'm not very picky, to be quite honest. I'm fairly relaxed."
