U.S. No. 1 Jack Sock criticized court conditions after a semifinal loss at the Citi Open in Washington, D.C.

No. 15 seed Kevin Anderson defeated Sock 6-3, 6-4 in Saturday’s semifinal. In his press conference afterwards, a blunt Sock expressed displeasure about the court surface of Stadium Court, calling it one of the worst he’s played on all year.

ATP: Anderson Stops Sock to Reach DC Final

"Pretty shocking tennis court," Sock said. "I don't think I'll be back at this tournament probably in the future. It's probably the worst court of the year. Speed, bounces, everything. It's pretty shocking."

Sock, who played all his matches on the Stadium Court during the week, has competed at the event since 2013.

Though some chalked up Sock’s rant to having lost, other players made similar comments about the court as well.

Ekaterina Makarova, who reached the WTA final after a three set win over France’s Oceane Dodin, said she also experienced bad bounces during her match.

Alexander Zverev, after his semifinal win over Kei Nishikori, was asked about the Stadium Court as well. Zverev said “the center court is really great” and that he had no issues, but did say it was one of the fastest courts of all the events played during the North American hard court season.
