Rafael Nadal is looking forward to sharing the same side of the court with Roger Federer.

The rivals have squared off 34 times with Nadal holding a 23-11 career edge over Federer.

Sharing the stage together in New York along with legends Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe, prompted Nadal to provide his thoughts on pairing with Federer at the 2017 Laver Cup.

"We have been like rivals for all our career so to be on the same team and even play some doubles together will be something very, very special and I'm very excited about," Nadal says in the video above.

The 17-time Grand Slam champion said he's enthused about the prospect of partnering Nadal on a Team Europe squad coached by Borg.

“I’m just really excited about the prospect of me being on the same court, for instance in the doubles, with Rafa,” Federer said. “Or just supporting on the sidelines. Not that I haven’t enjoyed watching him play in the past but now I’ll be really cheering him on to rip one forehand winner after another. So for me to experience that, having Bjorn Borg as our Captain, just the inspirational figure that he is, I think it’s just amazing.”
