Djoker Bends It Like Beckham
Novak Djokovic put on a crisp, efficient display of baseline tennis Monday night in New York, taking down Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 to set up a second-round encounter with France’s Paul-Henri Mathieu.

Djokovic hit 24 winners in the one hour and 36 minute encounter with Schwartzman, but none was as remarkable as the around-the-net-post winner that the Serb hit in the fifth game of the second set.
One word: Awesome.
Lots of players try this shot, but very few make it happen the way that the Serb did last night, feathering it with force into the small opening between the umpire's chair and the net post, and find that little sliver of the line that was available to him. It was enough to get a big rise from Boris Becker, who seemed to be caught off guard by the shot before bursting into applause. Or, maybe, Boris was just sleeping?
