One week after Jo-Wilfried Tsonga made waves by claiming glory in Toronto and returning to the top 10, his countryman Julien Benneteau decided not be outdone. Benneteau upset Stan Wawrinka en route to his first career ATP Masters 1000 semifinal in Cincinnati, and is the big mover on the ATP rankings board this week. Benneteau not only moves up 14 spots to No. 27, just one place behind his career-high ranking of No. 26 - but also passes Gilles Simon and Jeremy Chardy to become the French No. 3 behind Tsonga and Gael Monfils.

Another beneficiary of a strong Cincinnati campaign is Jerzy Janowicz. The Pole, who seemed destined for the top 10 at this time last year, has struggled mightly in 2014. Janowicz not only won back-to-back matches for the first time since Wimbledon in Cincy, but he improved to to 5-13 against top 10 opponents in his career after upsetting No. 8 Dimitrov in the second round. Janowicz moves up 13 spots in this week's rankings, to No. 52.
On the women's side, Elina Svitolina also had a week to write home about. The 19-year-old Ukrainian upset Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and Carla Suarez Navarro to reach the quarterfinals before falling to Ana Ivanovic. Svitolina rises just five spots in the rankings from No. 39 to No. 34, and also finds herself now one spot behind her career-high.
While Svitolina ascends, Victoria Azarenka suffers a drop of seven places in the rankings the week, falling out of the top 10 to No. 17. The former World No. 1 was unable to defend her title in Cincinnati due to a knee injury.
