Madrid Taking Tennis to the Streets


You can visit Madrid to watch the Mutua Madrid Open—and stay to play on clay yourself.

The Mutua Madrid Open is taking tennis to the streets.

The Masters 1000 tournament announced it will construct a public clay court fans can rent at the Plaza de Colón in Madrid.

"The clay court that the Mutua Madrid Open will build in Colón will promote the sport, making it easier for fans to play tennis in a spectacular setting, and will once again carry the name of the city of Madrid around the world before such incredible action," Mutua Madrid Open CEO Gerard Tsobanian said.
