The clay court season rumbles on, with five weeks until Roland-Garros begins. This week’s Roland-Garros champion Stefanos Tsitsipas will take his talents to Barcelona, where he’ll assume top seed duties. The Greek had a match point in the final last year against Rafael Nadal before the Spaniard edged him 6-4, 6-7(8), 7-5 to claim his record 12th Barcelona title.
With Nadal still working his way back to full health after suffering a stress fracture to his ribs, the draw will be open for a first-time winner.

Tsitsipas will face either Ilya Ivashka or Pedro Martinez after a first-round bye. The Greek could face Grigor Dimitrov in the round of 16, and No.5-seeded Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals if the seeds hold.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who fell short in his bid to become the first unseeded champion at Monte-Carlo in 30 years in Sunday’s final against Tsitsipas, will open with a qualifier in his first-round match and then face No.13-seeded Frances Tiafoe in the second round if he advances.
