The Dane is working with 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone at the Volvo Car Open in Charleston. Reportedly the pair hit together in Miami and Wozniacki asked Schiavone up to Charleston to join her father Piotr.
Wozniacki said the pair have only worked together for “a little less than a week.” She added: “It’s all about mixing up the pace, still playing aggressive, moving towards the ball, covering net, trying to not over force it but still play aggressive on the clay.”
It isn’t known how long the relationship will continue, but so far things have gone well for Wozniacki. She defeated Laura Siegemund in straight sets in second-round action and on Friday edged Romania's Mihaela Buzarnescu 6-4 3-6 6-3 in third-round action to set a quarter-final clash with Maria Sakkari.
Wozniacki went 9-4 on clay last season and reached the round of 16 before falling to Daria Kasatkina in Paris. She owns a 105-52 record on clay with four titles and ten finals to her name. Wozniacki has gone 21-11 lifetime at Roland Garros with two quarter-finals to her name. She fell to Schiavone in the quarter-finals in Paris in 2010 before the Italian went on to claim her only major title.
