Thanasi Kokkinakis fell—in more ways than one—against Karen Khachanov in first-round action at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters. Watch as the Aussie ranges back to make a play at a backhand and ends up falling on a Maui Jim advert.
Fortunately Kokkinakis didn’t do any harm to himself—he’s been in enough injury trouble over the last few seasons to make your head spin. And for good measure, he gave the advert a good old punt before play continued.
Kokkinakis should be please he didn’t suffer the same fate as David Goffin at Roland Garros last year. In a similar situation the Belgian turned his ankle while sliding into a tarp at the back of the court.
Khachanov went on to notch the 7-5, 6-4 win, if you’re scoring at home.
