Genie Bouchard battled the USTA in court. Now, the former legal opponents are joining forces investing in future players.

The USTA announced it has partnered Bouchard for a joint charitable donation to the New York Junior Tennis League and Learning.

The USTA's announcement is here:

In the spirit of working together and moving forward to advance their mutual interests, the United States Tennis Association and Eugenie Bouchard are jointly making a charitable donation to New York Junior Tennis and Learning (NYTJL).

Located at the Carey Leeds Center in the Bronx, N.Y., NYJTL is dedicated to developing the character of young people through tennis and education for a lifetime of success both on and off the court. Leveraging tennis as a tool to inspire and advance opportunities for young people is critically important to both Ms. Bouchard and the USTA.

Bouchard, who recently began working with coach Robert Lansdorp, tweeted out this endorsement.

Bouchard sued the USTA after suffering a concussion following a fall in the US Open locker room.

In February, Bouchard won phase one of her case vs. the Tennis Association as a Federal court in Brooklyn ruled that the USTA was 75 percent responsible for any potential damages, which the court would then decide on.

Attorneys moved quickly on long negotiations that eventually led to what has been reported as a seven-figure settlement.

“It’s been two-and-a-half years, so I’m happy it’s over,” Bouchard told reporters outside a New York courtroom, the New York Times reported. “I feel vindicated that I got the verdict yesterday. Just relief and happiness right now."
