Short-term memory loss is a key quality for top players.
Sometimes, things get so bad on court, all you can do is laugh it off and forget about it.
So when a sluggish Sloane Stephens was blown out in the opening set against Simona Halep, Stephens' coach, Nick Saviano, came out, patted his charge on the shoulder, chuckled and advised her to forget about it and move on.

Ultimately, the comic interlude may have helped calm Stephens who took a 5-4 second-set lead before Halep sealed a 6-1, 7-5 victory to set up a semifinal showdown with seven-time Miami Open champion Serena Williams.
