Andy Murray tells the BBC that he's getting closer to hiring a new coach, but is not quite there yet. The defending Wimbledon champion, who parted ways with Ivan Lendl in March, has said that he'd like to have a successor to the Czech who guided him to two Grand Slam champions in place by Wimbledon, but also cautioned that there are many details to put in place.

"In a perfect world, I would have someone in place before the French Open, but it's hard because there a lot of things that go into it with contracts and finances and stuff like that," he told the BBC Scotland.
Rumors have been circling that Murray could be interested in hiring a female coach, and the 26-year-old did nothing to deny them this week. According to this BBC piece, Murray even opened the subject by producing the following reply when asked when he would have a “man” in place: “Or Woman... there's seven or eight people I've got down on a list right now.”

With another week off before he plays the Madrid Open in early May, expect Murray to be working the phones to get things narrowed down further.
"It is about speaking to a few people trying to find the right fit,” he said. "I hadn't done that until 10 days ago. I wanted to concentrate on a few tournaments . Now I've had a bit of a break, I've had a chance to do that."
