The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) has partnered with TGA Premier Youth Tennis (TGA) to introduce TGA’s business ownership opportunity and school-based activation model to USPTA members. The partnership will help grow tennis at the grassroots level and attract new business for USPTA Professionals.

TGA, which stands for Teach Grow Achieve, pioneered a school-based youth sports franchise model that makes tennis accessible to youth and families through a five level, instruction-based program for elementary students, and a play-based program for middle school students. Its specialized curriculums were developed in partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and focuses on instilling a passion for youth tennis while promoting advancement, achievement and the attainment of life skills on and off the court.

The USPTA recognized that a relationship with TGA would positively impact its membership through the creation of new business ownership and job opportunities.

“TGA has developed a new generation model that could change the way we grow the sport of tennis,” said USPTA CEO John Embree. “To be able to provide a proven business model and increase the offering of full and part-time job opportunities to our members is critical for the future of our association and for our sport.”

TGA franchise opportunities will create a blueprint for USPTA-certified Professionals to take their skills and quickly scale a self-sustaining turnkey business solution that introduces the sport of tennis throughout their community. The program will then transition the new tennis players to local tennis facilities, youth programs, and USTA events creating new clients and future business for USPTA Professionals.

Other partnership benefits will include the development of educational training programs for youth tennis, further enhancing TGA’s five-level enrichment curriculum, as well as the USPTA and TGA cross-promoting their brands through various channels.

“The tennis industry has done an excellent job in developing opportunities to grow the sport, and now through this new relationship, USPTA Professionals will be on the forefront of significantly growing and activating new players for the future,” said Joshua Jacobs, TGA founder and CEO. “We are thrilled about the opportunity to merge our model with their expert knowledge of delivering tennis instruction to youth and growing the sport.”

TGA after-school tennis enrichment programs take place year-round indoors or outdoors on school campuses or at community centers. TGA provides all appropriate sized equipment including racquets, balls and portable nets from Wilson Tennis for all ages to safely create tennis courts on any surface. The age-appropriate instruction also incorporates lessons in character development, physical fitness, rules and etiquette, as well as academics in math, science, social studies and language.
