The LTA, the national governing body for British tennis, has appointed David Gregson as independent Chairman of the LTA Board. The appointment was approved at a special meeting of the LTA Council on December 12.
Gregson is the Chairman of Precise Media Group, and of CRI, a leading UK health and social care charity. He is also a Director of the London Legacy Development Corporation, which is transforming the Olympic Park following the 2012 Games, and a member of the Advisory Board for the Sutton Trust, promoting social mobility through education.
“David brings a wealth of experience as a leader in the fields of business, the voluntary sector, sport, and government," said Peter Bretherton, LTA President, of Gregson's new position. "His appointment as independent Chairman of the LTA Board is another significant step in the modernization of governance of British tennis."
Gregson's role will take effect in January 2013. As chairman, Gregson is reponsible for ensuring that the vision and strategy of the LTA Board is being applied and implemented. The LTA President will continue to lead the LTA Council and act as the public ambassador for the LTA and British Tennis.
