Day four: we're going with Kohlschreiber to win his match today.

Our match of the day pick: Nadal vs. Gasquet

Still don’t know why this match is not being played under the lights on Ashe but it promises to be a good one. Nadal, sporting a Federer-inspired new hair cut takes on a newly reinstated Gasquet. If memory serves correct, not too long ago Gasquet was dubbed “Baby Federer” by many of us. Although his career thus far has paled in comparison, the backhand is a thing of beauty and he plays the game with quintessential French flair.  Let’s hope Gasquet shows up to play.

Our blue plate “upset” special: Bartoli vs. Clijsters

No one really would consider this an upset by any means but for the sake of paying some respect to the WTA ranking system, let’s call it that. Bartoli’s DIY game has no shortage of quirkiness. She played in her 1st round but unlucky for her, she was rewarded with a second round encounter with a resurgent Clijsters.

Am still reeling from Kleybanova’s 3 set loss this afternoon. Twice she was up a break in the 2nd and 3rd set and couldn’t close the deal.

Well, the good news is, Cilic won his match today so I’m still in the men’s draw!  I’m going to forge ahead and pick David Ferrer to win his match tomorrow.

Let's go with Cilic and Kleybonova to win their matches today.

Matches to watch: Djokovic VS. Ljubicic Ljubicic is no where near the player he was a few years ago but still a very tricky first round for Novak. Needs to stay sharp or it could be a very long day at the office. Should be at least one tight set.

Massu vs. Gonzalez Does this match have how 5 sets written on it or what? Scheduled on court 11, the atmoshere will be electric. Go watch this match if you want to learn how to run around a backhand to hit your big forehand. It will remind you of that Beyonce song "to the left, to the left" GO Chillie!

Ivanovic vs. Bondarenko Venus played escape artist tonight, but Ivanovic might not be so lucky tomorrow. Serve-itits continues to plague the WTA and you will find no finer example than from Ivanovic. You're blue plate upset special everyone. Stay Tuned.

The 2009 US Open draw is out, so let’s peer into the crystal ball to determine the fate of all 128 competitors through out the 2 week fortnight.
