Alexander Zverev to Join Forces with Federer, Nadal at Inaugural Laver Cup

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev will headline a star-studded field at this September’s Laver Cup in Prague. Captains Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe made the final selections on Wednesday in New York City, rounding out Team Europe and Team World.Tennis Now Q&A: Vera Zvonareva Talks Family and Coming Back to the WTA at 32“I’m so excited and grateful for this opportunity,” said Zverev. “My idol when I was growing up was Roger Federer, so to even compete against him was already extremely special. Now to be on a team with him is almost surreal. Then on top of that you have Rafael Nadal and other big stars in the same team. It’s going to be an incredible time.”Federer, Nadal and Zverev will be joined by Tomas Berdych, Dominic Thiem and Marin Cilic on Team Europe.On Wednesday captain John McEnroe added Denis Shapovalov and Juan Martin del Potro to a Team World that already consists of John Isner, Milos Raonic, Sam Querrey and Jack Sock.
