Konta Rubs Elbows with Music Luminaries at Wimbledon
Great Britain’s Johanna Konta caught the eye of a few music celebrities during her run to the Wimbledon semifinals. Van Morrison took a shine to Konta and expressed his “fandom” on Twitter.
@JoKonta91 I'll be watching #Wimbledon Good Luck!

After Konta fell to Venus Williams, Van the Man praised Konta again and even invited her to one of his gigs. Naturally, and wisely, Konta was quick to accept.
@JoKonta91 Jo, you did great. We're so proud of you and I'd like you to come as my guest to one of my gigs. Van

Konta also spent a bit of time on set with pop star Ellie Goulding.

And the legendary Mick Jagger chimed in, but did not invite Konta to a Rolling Stones gig yet. Perhaps when she wins the title?
Great to see Johanna Konta make the semi-finals at #wimbledon first British woman in 39 years. I never quite made it to a Grand Slam! pic.twitter.com/o9JS8loTqX

It may have been mildly disappointing for Konta that she was unable to reach the final, but rubbing elbows—in person or otherwise—was surely a thrill for the self-professed music fan. ]]>
