This kind of amazing point happens on grass quite often, but the fact that great diving stabs are a regular occurrence on the spiky green surface never dilutes the sheer joy we get from watching them.Take for instance this amazing stick save by Steve Johnson during his match with Stefan Kozlov on Tuesday at Queen’s club. It looks like Johnson has overplayed his hand by charging the net too hard, but he finds a way to pull out of his stumble and move laterally to the middle of the net where he proceeds to make one of the most amazing desperation dive volleys you ever will see. After Johnson wins the point he stays for a moment on the ground. It’s as if he’s just realized that while the grass may be green, it’s also pretty hard.Great point by Johnson, but it Kozlov who took the victory, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, to reach the second round.
