Ben Shelton didn’t leave New York with the US Open trophy, but his run to a first Grand Slam final has propelled him to new heights in both the PIF ATP Rankings and the Race to Turin.
The 23-year-old American climbs five places to a career-high No. 4 in the ATP rankings, making him the biggest mover inside the Top 10.
Shelton also jumped three spots to No. 3 in the Race to Turin with 4,430 points, putting himself in excellent position to qualify for the Nitto ATP Finals.
Shelton Cracks the Top Four
Shelton entered the US Open still searching for his first major final. After reaching Sunday’s championship match against Alexander Zverev, he leaves as the No. 4 player in the world.
He is also the highest-ranked American man and sits third in the Race, trailing only Zverev and Jannik Sinner.

Tiafoe Reaches a Career High
Frances Tiafoe’s run to the US Open semifinals also produced a significant rankings reward.
The American rises three spots to a career-high No. 8 and is now sixth in the Race to Turin with 3,330 points, putting him firmly in contention for a place at the season-ending championships.
Khachanov Makes a Huge Leap
Karen Khachanov was the biggest mover inside the Top 30.
The former US Open semifinalist made another run to the final four in New York and rockets 24 positions from No. 50 to No. 26.
Van de Zandschulp Surges 30 Places
Botic van de Zandschulp enjoyed one of the biggest ranking jumps anywhere in the Top 100.
The Dutchman arrived in New York ranked No. 70 and reached the quarterfinals, sending him soaring 30 positions to No. 40.

Alex Michelsen’s first Grand Slam quarterfinal has pushed the Southern Californian closer to a potential seeding at future majors.

Zverev Closes the Gap
At the very top, US Open champion Alexander Zverev remains at No. 2 in the ATP rankings, but his second Grand Slam title has helped him close the gap on No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
Zverev now sits just 1,540 points behind Sinner in the rankings.
In the Race to Turin, however, the positions are reversed. Zverev leads the season-long standings with 8,650 points, 700 ahead of Sinner. Both have already qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals.
