Australian Open to Limit Grounds Passes for First Time in 2027

The Happy Slam will offer fans more elbow room in 2027.

The Australian Open announced today it will cap 2027 AO Grounds Passes for the first time in an effort to reduce overcrowding on outer courts.

“Starting at just $49, the AO Ground Pass is one of the best value sporting tickets in the world. The price hasn’t increased since 2019 and we expect demand for AO 2027, particularly week one of the main draw, to be stronger than ever,” Tennis Australia Chief Commercial Officer Cedric Cornelis said. “With this in mind, the daily allocations will be capped for the first time. 

“This decision reflects the growing popularity of the AO and will help ensure fans are able to make the most of everything on offer across the precinct. If week one is on your radar, getting tickets early is the best way to avoid missing out.”

Australian Open 2027 tickets go on sale to the public from noon Melbourne time on Thursday, August 13th, via Ticketmaster. 

The decision to cap Grounds Passes follows a record-breaking Australian Open 2026, which attracted 1,368,043 fans across the three-week tournament.
