Roland Garros rose to stratospheric heights last June.
Moments before the 2025 French Open final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz began, TNT analyst and former world No. 1 Andre Agassi famously described the match as “the best pure ball striker versus the flying saucer.”
Reigning champion Alcaraz saved three championship points out-dueling world No. 1 Sinner in a five hour, 29-minute epic—the longest-ever Roland Garros final and second-longest major final—as the champions combined to carry clay-court tennis to dizzying heights.
In its maiden year of a 10-year, $650 million TV pact with the French Tennis Federation, TNT Sports elevated Roland Garros coverage to an entirely new level.
Coco Gauff rallying past world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the Roland Garros women’s final generated 1.5 million viewers across TNT and tru TV—a 94 percent increase from Iga Swiatek’s sweep of Jasmine Paolini in the 2024 final. It was the most-highly viewed Roland Garros women’s singles final since 2016. Viewership rose 105 percent among viewers in the 24-54 age group compared to 2024.
Alcaraz’s stunning conquest of Sinner that saw him save three championship points and prevail in the longest French Open final in history peaked at 2.6 million viewers at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time on final Sunday. The men’s final average 1.8 viewers for the entire telecast, an increase of 8 percent from Alcaraz’s five-set win over Alexander Zverev in the 2024 final.
The 2025 French Open men’s final was the most highly-viewed Roland Garros men’s singles final since 2012.

Now, TNT is back for its second year of Roland Garros coverage.
The question is: Can the network still engage tennis fans and general sports fans given Alcaraz is out of Paris and Wimbledon and young stars, including 2025 semifinalist Lorenzo Musetti and 2025 Indian Wells champion Jack Draper, both withdrew?
