Alexander Zverev has publicly criticized Tennis Channel after claiming the broadcaster repeatedly edits him out of social media videos based on the network’s whims and what he perceives to be biases.

The World No. 3 made the comments on Instagram following his early exit in Rome, where he squandered four match points in a dramatic loss to Italy’s Luciano Darderi.

The controversy stemmed from a Tennis Channel social media challenge centered around Roman numerals. Zverev appeared briefly in the clip, but later suggested that several of his correct answers had been omitted from the final edit.

In a pointed Instagram comment, the German questioned why he continues participating in promotional content if his successful answers are consistently left out. He also suggested that certain players receive more favorable treatment than others, accusing the network of preferring to showcase his mistakes rather than his correct responses.

“Just a random question @tennischannel,” Zverev commented. “Why do I do all of these games and all these promotion activities with you guys, but then every time I get something right, I get cut out of every single one.

“Just asking if you’re just interested in wasting my time or just hope that I get something wrong so you can then put that in. I know you have players that you love to hate on and players that you love. So just please stop wasting my time then.”

Zverev later deleted the comment.

The remarks quickly spread across tennis media and social platforms, adding another layer of frustration to a difficult stretch for Zverev. The German has yet to win a title in 2026 and recently criticized court conditions in Rome following his defeat to Darderi.
