Community and charity tennis leaders will convene in a virtual panel discussion on the power of public parks court tennis this month.
You can join the webinar free of charge.
The USTA will host Voices on the Hardcourt, the virtual panel discussion, on April 30th starting at 2 p.m. Eastern time. You can register, free of charge, here.

Here is the USTA’s description of the webinar and participating tennis leaders:
In this virtual panel discussion, we will hear from the leaders of the Latin American Tennis Foundation (LATF), the American Tennis Association (ATA), and the Asian American Pacific Islander Tennis Association (AAPITA). Moderated by Ryan Redondo, Youth Tennis San Diego/Barnes Tennis Center, this session explores the public park as an accessible hub where culture is celebrated and traditional barriers are dismantled. By uniting these three influential organizations, the discussion will provide insights into how community courts have proven to be engines for social connection, equity, and local empowerment.
Voices on the Hardcourt Panelists:
Ryan Redondo, CEO, Youth Tennis San Diego/Barnes Tennis Center (Moderator)
Dan Gonzales, Vice President/Founder LATF
Robert Foster, President, ATA
Vania King, President, AAPITA
Vania King was ranked world No. 3 in doubles. King and partner Yaroslava Shvedova famously won the 2010 Wimbledon and US Open doubles championships back to back.
LATF co-founder Dan Gonzales, son of legendary Hall of Fame champion Richard “Pancho” Gonzalez, remembers his father’s words that “it wasn’t about being No. 1, it was about doing the best he could do at what he loved.”
Many of the greatest American champions in history, including Don Budge, Pancho Gonzalez, Billie Jean King, Rosie Casals, Jimmy Connors, Chrissie Evert, Arthur Ashe, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi, the Williams sisters and Coco Gauff either started playing tennis on public park courts or spent time training on public park courts.
The April 30th webinar will feature leaders discussing how celebrating community culture strengthens the legacy and power of public parks tennis.
