30-Love: Sinner Sweeps Tiafoe, Storms Into Miami Semifinals

Jannik Sinner threw down bolts and showed Frances Tiafoe the door.
Sinner slammed his 14th ace down the T dismissing Tiafoe 6-2, 6-2 extending his record run into the Miami Open semifinals.

The second-seeded Sinner has won 15 consecutive matches at the ATP Masters 1000 level, including a record 30 straight sets at ATP Masters 1000 level.
Indian Wells champion Sinner now stands just two wins away from becoming the first man to complete the Sunshine Double since Roger Federer in 2017.
Next up for Sinner is either third-seeded Alexander Zverev or 18th-seeded Argentinean Francisco Cerundolo in tomorrow’s semifinals.
Today, Sinner hit harder, infused his strikes with more spin and sent Tiafoe repeatedly running into the corners to defend deep drives.
Sinner more than quadrupled Tiafoe’s winner total (33 to 7) and dominated from start to finish.
Wimbledon winner Sinner broke to open and served with authority extending his lead to 4-1. Sinner served out the opening set at love.
Stretching Tiafoe to the forehand side, Sinner drew a series of errors breaking for a 2-1 second-set lead. Sinner slashed successive aces down the T holding at 15 in stretching his lead to 3-1.
Showing his speed and anticipation, Sinner ran down a drop shot, retreated all the way to the baseline and sliced a smash down the sideline for a Love-30 lead in the seventh game. Tiafoe missed a wild forehand wide to cede the break at love and a 5-2 lead to Sinner.
An amped up Sinner flashed his 14th ace to improve to 17-2 on the season. Sinner stretched his streak against Americans to 29 consecutive wins since losing to Ben Shelton at the 2023 Masters Shanghai.
