Dubai champion Daniil Medvedev and finalist Tallon Griekspoor are reportedly trapped in the UAE in the aftermath of United States and Israel’s bombing of Iran.

Flights are suspended at both Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) after Iran apparently launched strikes on Middle East targets, including Dubai, in retaliation for the U.S. and Israel attack.
All flights in and out of Dubai have been suspended for the moment, according to Reuters.

Medvedev received a walkover win from Griekspoor, who injured his left leg in yesterday’s semifinals, and captured his second Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships crown earlier today.

Medvedev has not commented on his efforts to leave Dubai though he did post “23” in a reference to winning his 23rd career title today. It marks the first time the former US Open champion has won the same tournament title twice.
Both former world No. 1 Medvedev and Griekspoor are aiming to leave Dubai to travel to the United States for next week’s BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.
A luxury hotel in downtown Dubai, The Fairmont Palm Hotel, was hit in an apparent retaliatory strike by Iran, BBC reports.
