WTA Rankings: Rybakina Rises to No.3, Matching Career High

AO Champ Rybakina Climbs to No.3

2026 Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina climbs to No. 3 in the world, matching her career high, while teenage sensations Victoria Mboko and Iva Jovic made new career highs at No. 13 and No. 20 respectively. 

Meanwhile, at the top of the rankings, Aryna Sabalenka commences her 75th week at number one. She has held the top spot since October 21, 2024 and currently leads No. 2 Swiatek by over 3000 points. 

Another teen, Tereza Valentova of Czechia, also makes a career high at No. 44, while Alexandra Eala rises four spots to a career-high No. 45 and Indonesia’s Janice Tjen rises to No. 47. 

Madison Keys, 2025 Australian open champion, drops six spots to No. 15 after losing in the round of 16 of her title defense in Melbourne. 

Turkey’s Zeynep Sonmez is the biggest riser inside the top 100, she jumped 33 spots to No. 79. 

American Peyton Stearns, who reached the third round in Australia, jumps 18 spots to No. 50 which means there are 10 Americans in the Top 50 this week, in addition to three – No.4 Anisimova, No.5 Gauff and No.6 Pegula in the Top 10. 

Moms Make History 

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina returns to the top 10 for the first time as a mother, after reaching her maiden Aussie Open semifinal. She’s one of two mothers in the top 10 this week — Switzerland Belinda Benji comes in at No. 9 — and it marks a special day for the WTA Tour.

The pair of veterans have made history as the first two mothers to simultaneously hold top 10 rankings, according to the WTA tour.
Switzerland’s Bencic returned to the Top 10 in mid-January for the first time since stepping away from the court in September 2023 to give birth to baby Bella. 

Svitolina, mom to Skai, returned from maternity leave in 2023.
