Swiatek Relentless in Beijing Opener
Beijing is a happy place for Iga Swiatek. Look no further than the unblemished record.
The six-time major champion in 2023 Beijing title winner remained undefeated in the Chinese capital on Saturday defeating China’s Yuan Yue 6-0, 6-3, to reach the third round.

By doing so the Pole increased her tour-leading total of victories to 58 against just 13 losses in 2025.
She has now won 15 of her last 16 matches overall, and will face Colombia’s Camila Osorio in the third round.
Full credit to Yuan, who turned 27 years of age yesterday, for doing her best to reel in the relentless Swiatek in the second set.
After dropping the first six games of the match, the Yangzhou, China native broke the Pole to start the second set.
Swiatek raced through the next four games, but the Chinese pushed back for a hold in the sixth game of the second set finishing that game with a brilliantly executed drop shot at the end of a long, physical rally.
Some impressive tennis from the former world No. 36, now ranked 110, but not enough to keep the Polish juggernaut from getting through this contest relatively unscathed.
The final few games of the match were played at an extremely high level, with the Pole weathering the storm and pushing through as she won the final two games. Swiatek finished with 19 winners against 11 for her opponent, and committed 23 unforced errors to 35 for Yuan.
“For sure it wasn’t easy. Every game was tight,” Swiatek said. “I’m happy to be back here and playing on the court because it’s really beautiful.
“Every tournament is different so you have to start from the beginning and grind.”
