Coco Gauff Books Spot in Citi Open Main Draw
Coco Gauff will play the main draw at the Citi Open this week.The 15-year-old American who sent shockwaves through the tennis world when she became the youngest player to reach the second week at Wimbledon since 1991, ripped through qualifying this weekend at Washington, D.C., dropping just nine games in two matches and dropping just nine first-serve points in those two matches.

Gauff defeated American Maegan Manasse 6-4 6-2 on Saturday, then took out Hiroko Kuwata 6-1 6-2 on Sunday.Gauff will face Zarina Diyas of Kazakhstan in first-round action on Tuesday, in her third career main draw appearance. Gauff is also entered in the doubles draw. She’ll play alongside American Caty McNally and the duo are slated to face Americans Hayley Carter and Maegan Manasse on Monday.
