Caroline Garcia Says No To Tennis Gambling

Former world No.4 Caroline Garcia has taken a form stance against tennis gambling. The Frenchwoman, who retired from the sport in 2025, turned down a lucrative gambling sponsorship for her podcast, “Tennis Insider Club”.

She explained her reasoning in an Instagram post this week.

“Here’s why we turned down a $270,000 podcast sponsorship from a betting company,” she wrote.
“It wasn’t an easy “no,” especially right after retiring from tennis. But we want to build a platform where players feel completely safe to be honest, vulnerable, and open about anything, without pressure or distraction.”

Gambling has made its way into the sport via sponsorship deals in recent years. One can’t even get through watching a set of a match on Tennis Channel without being fed live betting odds. But gambling is also responsible for the lion’s share of abuse that players absorb on social media.

It’s nice to know that Garcia is willing to forego the money in the name of the sanctity of the sport she loves.
