Australian Open Smashes Attendance Record on Day 1 of Qualifying
Attendance during Autralian Open fan week is expected to double - maybe even triple - this year.
More and more we are seeing the advent of the three-week major. Last week the US Open tallied 239,307 fans during fan week in 2025, which included the newly revamped mixed doubles competition.
The Australian is following suit this year.
The event announced that it reeled in 29,261 fans for Day 1 of qualifying, nearly four times what it saw last year.
According to a report in the Guardian, the qualifying week drew 116,000 fans last year and the Australian Open hopes to double that number.
