(March 26th, 2012) The heroic and inspiring efforts of one veteran wildcard in the women's draw at the Sony Ericsson Open is so far the talk of the event. But it's another wildcard whose similar unexpected run to the fourth round has people asking -- who is Garbine Muguruza Blanco?

Blanco, an 18-year-old player from Spain, was really only known on the ITF circuit where she has won a few titles including a recent one at the Clearwater Challenger. Blanco earned a direct entry into Miami, a decision that raised a few eyebrows considering she had never played a WTA main draw match before.

But Blanco, with her attacking game that often leads her into net, has made good on her wildcard ticket as she's upset both No. 9 seed Vera Zvonareva and No. 24 seed Flavia Pennetta en route to the fourth round of the event.

Blanco now faces No. 5 seed Agnieszka Radwanska and though she might be the underdog in that one, it's obvious that no matter her result today, Blanco is certainly a name to be remembered as a rising star on the WTA tour.
